An access control system can allow you to easily control who has access to specific areas of your business. Modern access control systems even have many other features. We will be looking at the pros and cons of installing an access control system in your Fraser Valley, Surrey, Langley or Vancouver business.

Keep your Building Locked and Secure

One of the main pros of an access control system is it allows you to keep your building locked and secure at all times. Because of the ease at which an employee can scan and enter the building, exterior doors, and/or certain interior doors can remain locked throughout the work day, while still maintaining access for employees. This means that unwelcome intruders will not stumble through an unlocked door.

Monitor Who is Coming and Going

Access control systems also allow you to track who is coming and going. When cards or fobs are given out, these are registered to a specific user. This means that the system admin is able to see who, and at what time, is accessing the door. This can be vital to building security.

Disable Access

Another pro of access control systems is the ability to disable access for specific users. This allows you to block users in the event of any issues or lost fobs or cards. This is especially important when compared to keys, as lost keys may require all the locks to be replaced, whereas a lost card or fob can easily be disabled.

Cost

Although there are very few cons to access control systems, the main con may be the upfront cost of the system. Depending on the system you choose, there will be an initial investment for equipment and installation.

As you can see, the pros far outweigh the cons when it comes to access control systems. If you have been considering this for your home or business, make sure you talk to the experts at Devise Integration.
